The Colbert County School District has 21st CCLC After School Programs at Cherokee Elementary, Colbert Heights Elementary, and Hatton Elementary. Students at New Bethel Elementary will have the opportunity to attend afterschool at Colbert Heights Elementary. Students at Leighton Elementary will have the opportunity to attend afterschool at Hatton Elementary.
Students will experience math and reading tutoring, STEAM and enrichment activities, daily snacks, and physical activity. Community learning experiences and character education will also be offered throughout the school year.
Goals and Objectives:
1. Reading proficiency of regularly attending students who attend the 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Program will increase in all grades by at least 2% by the end of the year as measured by the Edmentum web-based educational platform, and/or STAR Accelerated Reading Program, and/or the state accountability test Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP).
2. Math proficiency of regularly attending students who attend the 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Program will increase in all grades by at least 2% by the end of the year as measured by the Edmentum web-based educational platform and/or the state accountability test Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP).
3. Students regularly attending the 21st CCLC After School Program will achieve a 95% attendance rate for the regular school day as measured in Inow and with fewer than 2 unexcused absences for the year.
4. Parents/guardians will show an increase in family involvement and engagement. This increase will be measured by documenting communication history, documented participation in school-related meetings/events/educational programs, documented volunteer hours, and surveys from parents and program participants.
5. The number of disciplinary actions of students who regularly attend the 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Program will decrease by at least 5% by the end of the year as measured by Inow and office referrals for those students that had disciplinary actions.
6. 100% of regularly attending students participating in the 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Program will have the opportunity to participate in varied service learning opportunities or projects that are incorporated and embedded throughout the school year and summer program. Attendance rosters will serve as documentation of participation along with required student interactive activities for each service-learning opportunity.
7. 100% of all students participating in the after-school programs will be offered a healthy snack each afternoon. Students will receive educational instruction on health and wellness throughout the school year provided by service learning partners. Attendance rosters and student surveys will serve as documentation of participation.
8. 100% of participating students will be supervised in an Advanced Ed Accredited facility with a comprehensive safety plan by engaging and highly qualified staff. Safety Drill reporting, attendance rosters, and student surveys will serve as documentation of participation.
