      Hatton Elementary School is a 21st Century Learning Center for Hatton Elementary and Leighton Elementary students.

      For their Fall Service activity, the after-school students helped the Colbert County Animal Shelter.

      For their Spring Service activity, the after-school students will be working on their community garden.
      The students planted a fall garden and the garden club meets with them monthly.

      In October, the students got a visit from the local volunteer fire department for Fire Safety Month. Students were allowed to tour one of the fire trucks.

      In December, the after-school students had a Christmas party with their classmates, teachers, and parents.

      Beginning in March, the nutrition lady from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System will provide nutrition lessons once a week.
